🧭 The Path
Virtue
sīlaGiới
In brief
Virtue (sīla) is the practice of living ethically — choosing words and actions that don't harm yourself or others, like speaking honestly, treating people kindly, and not taking what isn't yours. The Buddha taught it as the foundation of the whole path: a calm, untroubled mind grows naturally from a life you don't have to regret or hide. A simple touchstone is to ask before you act, "Will this cause harm?" — and if it might, to gently choose another way.
