Right Speech

sammā-vācāChánh ngữ
In brief

Right Speech (sammā-vācā) is the part of the Buddhist path that asks us to use words wisely and kindly: speaking truthfully, avoiding harsh or hurtful language, not gossiping or sowing division, and skipping idle, pointless chatter. It matters because our words shape our relationships and our own minds, and gentle, honest speech creates trust and ease around us. A simple touchstone: before speaking, pause to ask whether it's true, kind, and helpful.
