Generosity

dānaBố thí
In brief

Generosity (dāna) is the practice of giving freely — your time, help, kindness, or material things — without expecting anything in return. The Buddha taught it as the very first step on the path, because letting go of what we cling to gently loosens greed and grows a warm, openhearted way of living. It can be as simple as sharing a meal, offering your full attention to someone who needs it, or quietly helping without seeking thanks.
