Impermanence

aniccaVô thường
In brief

Impermanence (anicca) is the truth that everything in our experience is constantly changing—nothing stays fixed, and nothing lasts. The Buddha pointed to this as one of the three marks of all conditioned things, because seeing it clearly loosens our grip on what we cling to and opens the door to peace. You can notice it in something as ordinary as a breath: it arises, it passes, and another takes its place.
